When
you first install Sony Vegas software, it
has a specific look and layout, but did you know that
Vegas can be customized to function and look exactly
how you'd like it to function and appear?
There
are several options available in Vegas to
customize it's appearance and working layout. The default
appearance of Sony Vegas looks like the
image below.
Some
users of Vegas prefer that the docking area be on
top of the timeline rather than below. This is very easy
to do, and fast to accomplish. This change is made in the
Vegas Internal Preferences.
Before
going further in this tutorial, be aware that opening
the Internal Preferences for Vegas offers a
host of potential problems. Therefore, be cautious,
and don't modify anything in the Internal Preferences
that you aren't absolutely sure of. If you make an
error, and Vegas will not function correctly,
hold CTRL+SHIFT while launching Vegas. This
will reset ALL of Vegas preferences to
their defaults, and will cancel out any other
preferences you may have specified. These
are unsupported features, so be aware that Sony will
not offer support for the product until the default
prefs are restored.
