Editing HF10 Footage, Pg. 2

Conversion from Canon Vixia HF10 24p (Normal) to
Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920x1080 24p (Native)

This preset gets you the full 1920x1080 resolution, suitable for effects work.
The high resolution means large file size.

1. Apple > Formats > QuickTime > Apple ProRes 422
2. Duplicate Selected Setting
3. Change name in Inspector, e.g. Apple ProRes HF10 RevTel

4. Under “Encoder”, Video: [Settings…] choose “Enabled” to launch the settings Panel.
5. Then set Frame Rate to “Custom” and 23.976 fps. (below)

6. Under “Frame Controls” (click “star” to enable) , then Frame Controls: “On”
This will enable the second section so it is not grayed out.
7. Then under “Deinterlace:” pull down to “Reverse Telecine”.
8. Save the changes. Use your new custom preset as any other Compressor preset.
