There are many things that I can't stand. Among them are videos without hot girls, production assistants who ask me "why," and re-encoding footage from Final Cut in order to get effects laid in with After Effects. Everyone who’s been using the last few versions of Premiere Pro has it so easy! Dynamic Link! But Boris is leveling the playing field with XML Transfer.

Simply export XML version 5 from FCP...

Ease of Use
This review could read as two simple words. "It works!" This is probably the phrase I'd like to say much more often regarding plug ins. Very often there is something twitchy about plug ins, or a ton of toggle switches and dials that you need to work with in order to make it work. XML transfer just works. Two simple instructions and your entire Final Cut project can be imported directly into After Effects, in all of its separated clips, and with all of the effects applied. This allows you to continue to edit as you add in your effects in AE. There is no transcoding or compression/duplication required. Simply follow the directions and you will immediately be able to move your FCP project into AE.

Open a comp in AE, and import from FCP via Boris XML Transfer...
