How to make your own Shock Mount, Take 2, Pg. 2
I took the rubber tubing and cut a slice down the middle of it - This made 2 halves of rubber which I used to pad the mic from the metal clamps.  They were sandwiched inbetween the mic and the metal clamps. This holds the mic. The tricky part is also putting the 4 wall hanging clips onto the rubber, and fasten the metal clamps around them.

I mounted a small metal bracket onto the bottom of the ABS and then onto the mic holder base (I took the mic holder part off the original Radio Shack mic mount using a flat head screwdriver), using plastic washers on either side to keep tention on the joint so the shock-mount stays put once you adjust it. Then, the new mic holder is attached to the ABS tube with the rubber bands. The result is a microphone that hangs free inside the ABS tube.
