Review: Flash Video MX for Mac, Pg. 3

It's worth noting that Moyea has some temporary bug issues, but they are getting worked out at a rapid pace. For example, I had a major problem with SWF player functionality with my version of the software. But this has been squared away with a just-released update. This is par for the course in the world of 1.0 releases. It says alot of Moyea that they are steadily releasing updates of the software to resolve any known issues.

The ever-beloved batch encode feature. This is super-handy. It's a wonder why it took so long for this to get to Mac.

Value
For its few usability flaws, Moyea's Flash Video MX for Mac's value at $89 is insane. For all it does, the savings you get compared to On2 is astounding. If you are in the market to create super high-end Flash video. Moyea's Flash Video MX is worth jumping on at Version 1.0. Flash MX is possibly the most complete and inexpensive solution for getting the best, and fastest web-ready encodes.

A finished encode with an included skin. Pretty cool right?

Final Comments
You have to love companies like Moyea: the underdog against a Google-backed juggernaut like On2 yet doing MORE than their competition at just a quarter of the price. As I detailed, Flash MX does have some bugs, and the fact that it's based internationally means it doesn't deliever the fastest support (my query involving a simple fix on their forum took a few days to be answered). But for all you get at this price, it is well worth the investment for Mac people to get in on the ground level of what should surely be the leading force in Flash-encoding software in the near-future. For windows users who can pick up some of Moyea’s more developed packages, this is an even simpler choice!
