Software Review: Footage: Special Effects, Pg. 4

Value
While this set could stand some fine-tuning, this is still a great bang for the buck. At less than $100, you would be hard pressed to find this many effects options on a Footage DVD for anywhere close to this price. And good quality particle generators from FXHome, Trapcode, and Wondertouch cost between $200 to $400, so this is more economical than creating your own, as well.

In order to test the Film Dust & Scratches overlay, we created an alternate version of our new "MFM Presents" video which looked pretty nice. Additional old-film effectiveness can be added to these sorts of things with use of AE's Wiggler on the opacity of the clip.

Final Comments
FXHome's Footage: Special Effects is a pretty hefty clip of ammo for your action and genre-based film arsenal. With a little creativity, it can add a lot of production value to your films and reduce a lot of the headaches that can be generated by having to acquire or create these sorts of effects yourself! I would highly recommend it to anyone who has need of the options it presents.
