Spare Change Explores Homelessness in an unexpected way!

Los Angeles, CA. August 10, 2015. From the producers of Weeds and Orange is the New Black, comes Spare Change. The feature film comedy debut from co-directors Arturo Guzman and Jonathan Talbert recently took home the award for Best Supporting Actress (Elyse Levesque) and was nominated for Best Picture at the 2015 Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival.

Written by Stephanie Mathless and produced by Chris Huse and Anthony Fanelli, the plot of Spare Change follows Jane, a lost twenty-something who along with her best friend Lily, hatch a plan to feign homelessness and find different, creative ways to get money from strangers. What’s a girl to do when lying is your job and you start to bring work home with you?

The film stars Lissa Lauria, Elyse Levesque (The Originals), Curt Mega (Glee), Jordy Lucas (Neighbours), Neil Grayston (Eureka), Krista Allen (Significant Mother), Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation), Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead), Alison Becker (Parks and Recreation), Jordan Black (Community), Madylin Sweeten (Everybody Loves Raymond), Anthony Fanelli (The Next Steps), Grant Cotter (Jerks with Cameras) and Jackie Long (The Real Husbands of Hollywood).

“Spare Change is a simple delight. It’s a movie that doesn’t try to be anything else but what it is, and that’s a semi-lighthearted comedy. Running at a little more that 90 minutes, it is also a remotely quick watch and one that is able to engage and entertain for those minutes thanks to the wit of its script and the charm of its cast and, man, is its cast charming.”
