Interview: Glen Cohen from
ClickFlick Entertainment
, Pg. 2

KM: What happens if one of the filmmakers signs a separate DVD or theatrical distribution later on, how does that work?
GC: That's fine and if in their contract with other content providers stipulates that they have to relinquish their rights to their contract we may have to remove them from my network. Otherwise we encourage content suppliers to find other avenues of distribution. That's OK by me.

KM: How do the filmmakers specifically get paid through your service? You can be paid through Paypal, money order, or bank wire. What are the breakdowns?
GC: The breakdowns are $2.99 for every 7 day download and $9.99 for every Unlimited download. The host receives 35%, I receive 35%, the content suppliers receive 30%. Also if a content supplier lures an advertiser to my site or if I get advertisers to place ads on their videos, I will split the revenue.

KM: What differentiates one indie film on your service from another?
GC: My network combines the indie market with the a hi tech mainstream platform. We offer full DVD quality and people can access all of the content on PCs, laptops, televisions, and pocket PCs.

KM: Is there anything on your site that assists your average consumer from choosing one Indie film over another?
GC: There are featured movies on the homepage right now and everything will be broken down into dozens of categories and also by content supplier so I can promote your production/distribution companies.

KM: And, tying in with that, how do average consumers know which are the best films on your site?
GC: I don't want to say because I want every movie to have equal shot at becomong successful. I will let the people decide. That's what's unique is that I have features that have budgets of $50 all the way up into the millions and they all get equal play.

KM: Do you have impartial review information linked or a way for viewers to vote on films after they've seen them?
GC: Yes. A 5- Star system with comments.

KM: How do you intend to promote your company to encourage the greatest number of people being exposed to it?
GC: I'm going to spider it meaning that I will start with many small campaigns to see what works best and increase the scope when my site gets some notariety. I plan on Cost-Per-Click advertising, bulk emailing(non-spam), affiliates, banner/lonks exchange, print advertising, word of mouth.

KM: There are rather unique requirements for imdb, including the requirement of national distribution or at least festival showings--things that prevent simple "local" interest or college project films from getting onto IMDB. Will distribution through your company allow filmmakers to be listed imdb.com?
GC:
Nope. All movies are welcome and I do plan on promoting this at colleges as well and encourage filmmakers that are in school to submit their movies.

KM: Any final thoughts you want to share?
GC: We are now up and running.  All who submit content receives a free ClickFlick Entertainment [t-shirt]. Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to share my network to you.

And thank you, Glen, for letting us know about this awesome new service you’re offering! For filmmakers who are interested in getting involved with ClickFlick Entertainment, you can go to: http://www.clickflick.tv .
