On the technology side, Litepanels showed off their new series of LED-based Sola Fresnels. With an eye on replacing HMI lighting, Litepanels created these lightweight housings that look a lot like traditional fresnel lights. But what's inside them is what's really amazing! A focusable lens controls the beam created by powerful LEDs creating lights equivalent to a 250W, 650W, or 2000W tungsten light at a mere fraction of the energy! The Sola 12 also has an on-board, touchscreen computer for dimmability and lens focus. There is also a SolaENG light for on-camera work that can run on camera batteries. Pretty exciting stuff!
