Scoring Collide, Pg. 4

As I briefly mentioned earlier, I've taken the rough cut of the opening credit sequence from Collide and used three of the scores. I've used two from the premium scores (one of the rock and one of the jazz) and one of the free scores. The jazz one is thrown in there not only as an example of the score itself, but also to give an example of what the "wrong" music can do to your visuals. (Or could also be an example of taste, as the “jazz” score might the perfect sound for these visuals if I told the tale in a completely different manner. That’s the magic of the score creation process!) The other two could both work in my current narrative style, but create a variation of overall feel and mood. So, hopefully the examples will serve a two-fold purpose: give you an idea of the quality of the scores available to you through Adobe and, for those of you that are newer to the process than others, to let you see how important it is to choose the "right" music for your film and not simply music that you like.

With that, I conclude by saying, "keep shooting your films!" That is how we fine tune our craft...and, don't skim over the scoring part of your post production. It is very important to your overall finished product.
