This past summer, the brilliant minds at Red Giant jumped on the DSLR craze and created Magic Bullet Grinder to assist you in converting your DSLR video files into more readily accepted formats for editing.
Ease of Use
This program is the easiest program I have ever used. You literally just drag files into the program, choose which setting you want to convert the files to, and then press start.
Opening Screen. Walks you through the steps.
Depth of Options
The program gives you five export options: Original+Timecode, Apple ProRes 4444 (only available with FCP 7), Apple ProRes Standard, PhotoJPEG Max Quality and PhotoJPEG High Quality.
My videos files once I've dropped them into the program.
Performance
This program works just like I hoped. It converts the footage to a usable format and does it in a very timely manor. The program is multi-threaded for speed and converts the footage faster than I would have guessed.

Value
I've spent half my life waiting for files to render. This program saves me TONS of time rendering. I can't express this enough. I shoot a lot with the Panasonic HMC150 and the Canon t2i. If I were to just drag and drop their footage into the same timeline – it's going to require a lot of rendering. But not any more. This program has already saved me HOURS of rendering and I've only used it for one project!
Final Comments This program does what it says. It converts your video. It's simple, easy and fairly priced. It's not flashy, but it will save you tons of time rendering. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who shoots with two different cameras.
