Review: Light Kit 1.0, Pg. 3

This doesn't effect all users and the work-around is simply to be selective about where you apply the FxFactory plugs to prevent the issue. The other option is to simply render out Motion files and import them to FCP but that is kind of eliminating the synergistic purpose of the programs.

Fig03: The interface is short, sweet and has common sense names that imply both function and purpose.

Value
This is just a sweet combination of lighting and coloring tools that render fast. Ideal for creating contemporary moods, adding post ambient lighting effects, "memory" sequences or historic looking footage, LightKit is worth the $49. The worth comes from the common-sense ease of use and integration items. Really, everything is just right-sized for so many needs.

Final Thoughts
We all have overlap in our plug-in toolsets - it's inevitable given the narrow range of variables within our host applications. However, what makes this plug-in shine is the packaging of these elements into a smart, bite-sized tools that are easy to even remember to use in the first place. Honestly, it is possible to get these same effects with several other plug-ins available as well as crafting them yourself from stock tools that ship with our programs. This just makes it easier, faster and targeted to "real" usage. LightKit is a new favorite.
