Ok, so Final Cut gives you a pretty small selection of audio filters and effects, and some of them, like a simple EQ for example, are pretty limited in what they can do. It's often hard to remove a simple hum or wind noise from within Final Cut itself. That's where Soundtrack Pro comes in.
Soundtrack Pro 3, upgraded here from 2.0, is a multi-track audio editing program that's powerful enough to compose music with, but also works great for simply getting rid of a nasty buzz in an audio track. It supports 5.1 surround sound, and similarly to Motion, you may export directly to Soundtrack Pro straight out of your Final Cut timeline. The latest update doesn't seem like a huge update from the previous version at all, but for my purposes it really didn't need to be.
Most notably, it comes with TONS of royalty-free sound loops and Foley content. Rarely do I need to go outside Soundtrack Pro's extensive library of sound effects, and it pretty much did away with my need to keep Sound FX CDs handy.
Color is Apple's very detailed color correction program, and it's also the one part of Final Cut Studio that I rarely use, as Final Cut's color correction effects are usually enough for my needs. However, this slightly updated version includes support for 4K, and is ideal for high-end color correction, and several built-in presets based on popular looks. (The famous "Bleach Bypass" effect as seen in Saving Private Ryan, for example.)
Here you can access, in way more detail, 2D and 3D scopes, curves, and color wheels for isolating primary and secondary colors. Ideal for all the professional color-correctors out there. (Be sure to check out AJ Wedding's MFM review of Class on Demand's Color Training for more on how to use this powerful program effectively.)
