For the quality Muse 2.0 creates, I would expect to pay thousands of dollars on a system that is preloaded with the software or spending thousands on the software itself. With the high quality Muse 2.0 has to offer, its introductory price of $299 seems to be a very good value. (Even its normal price is below $500, which is still a good value.) At either price Muse 2.0 is a great investment for anyone wishing to be able to provide score for their video, but have little to no musical ability.
With that said, because competitors from SmartSound and Adobe are so much less expensive than the normal pricing for Muse 2.0, I hope that Abaltat makes Muse 2.0’s introductory pricing their permanent price. (Or even drops it a $100, due to its limits on score lengths vs. its competitors that don’t have such limitations.) Most microfilmmakers can justify an extra $100-$200 if the quality is highly superior to the competition, but an extra $300-$400 is a bit too big a price deviance for most of us, especially with the length limitations on the software.
While all 7 bands that are currently available come with the software right now, Abaltat will likely be adding more bands in the future, which can be purchased for further expandability and customization.
Great music has the ability to take your project to the next level. (And of course, the fact that the music is royalty free is a huge perk for micro-budget filmmakers!) Whether it is a commercial spot or a trailer for your film, the right music will help you further solidify the mood of your piece and connect emotionally with your target audience. Since most of us do not have access to wonderful composers or the money to hire one, Muse 2.0 makes sense. You know what sounds good and what works or doesn’t work for your piece, so why not use software that allows you to do it simply and effectively?
Exactly. There’s no reason not to. Not only will your projects sound enhance your editing, but it will make you look exceptionally smart as well. Over all, this is a great product and perfect if you're shooting commercials or cutting trailers for your clients. I highly recommend it.
