Value
$199 isn’t a bad price for a particle engine plugin, especially one as feature-rich as this. But what you’re really paying for is the uniqueness of the animations that Form delivers. You’re simply not going to see these effects in any other plugin. So if you work in a trendy or cutting edge post house (or want your clients to think you do) and need fresh visuals that haven’t been done to death, this software is definitely worth the money.
This looping string background is a perfect example of the breathtaking animations you can create with Form.
Final Comments
Trapcode continues to impress with another entry in its lineup of ultra-high quality software for After Effects. Even though Form has a steep learning curve, it does have 61 very useful presets that don’t need a lot of tweaking to produce rich organic animations that are truly stunning. In an industry where everything seems to have a “been there done that” look, it’s refreshing to see a plugin that provides such unique results.
