Use
of Audio
The audio for this short is quite good, which is amazing
due to the fact that they were apparently using the on-board
camera mic for the interviews with Jim Dellavalle. The
music choices are fitting for the background of his interviews
without getting overwhelming and the music chosen for
his rides fits the arenas he is riding in.
There's
even a nice bike collision where the music gets potted
down and the loud crash comes through, followed by an
admonition for Dellavalle not to hit the cameraman.
After that, the music pops right back up and the sequence
goes along nicely. I particularly like this because it
uses what might have been a problem and turns it into
a showcased feature, as though it had been intended.
There
are a few times where sound effects and music clash, but
it's pretty good for the most part. There is also the
strange fact that profanity isn't bleeped out from the
soundtrack, yet it is when Dellavalle uses the F-word
later in the film.
Use
of Budget
Pretty good use of budget, considering they traveled to
three separate states on the eastern seaboard and had
to get food for people. I assume that all the music is
deferred in order to get it to come in at that low a cost.
