There is a nice feeling of dreaming and wishfulness to this trailer. The visuals are not as strong as the text, as far as involving the viewer and making them wan to see the film. The actors seems to be wandering through their environments without a lot of purpose. Remember, the purpose of a trailer is to intrigue and involve the audience so that they want to see the rest of the story. |

The trailer is far too simple and there is little real threat that emerges in this too short trailer. The actress is not strong at all, and weakens the thrust. More pieces of the film need to be created to give the impression that there is much more movie there. Though the trailer seems to have many elements from other films, it keeps an exciting pace, with lots of different cuts from the "film" it represents. To improve it would need other elements that seem more original. |

I give you big props for trying to tell such a big story. Some very nice camera shots.
The trailer is a bit all over the place and I have no idea what the story is about. The graphics are very elementary, they have no style. The lighting and camera work also have very little style to them. |

Good News: For your budget you did a hell of a job. Very nice build of the suspense.
Now for the bad news: The concept has been done to death. I have a problem caring about anyone in the trailer, which is a problem. Lighting is very basic. You did not set up you villain properly. Your graphics could use some work as well. Keep on trucking. |

The best of the bunch. The director told me what was going on visually, this is what a director is suppose to do. The bullet at the end is a bit cheesy but acceptable. The lighting and look of the film is good. It does have the best chance of moving into a feature. Nice job. |

Could work on: The story is a bit unclear, I want more of a hook. I would have liked to hear some natural sound ups, either dialog or even ambient sounds, something to break up the music a bit. Who are these people, and what's going on? I need a little bit more to peak my curiosity, right now it seems very pretty but unclear as to the substance of the piece. |

Good: Trailer is very succinct, the storyline and mystery clearly established by title cards and footage. Plot seems to focus on pretty well-worn territory, but this is a genre in demand and easy to sell. Conceptually, this should be very attractive to domestic and international financiers/buyers.
Could work on: The white titles over black are very bland and linger too long, dragging down the pacing. Images are a bit flat. I'd focus the budget on creating a look for the film, something with some atmosphere. |

Good: Footage looks just great, beautifully shot. Graphics are professional and really well done, help drive the whole thing. Clear "three act" structure to the trailer, very nice buildup.
Could work on: Pacing off just a bit in the first act. Each shot could be about half as long. I wonder if the trailer doesn't show TOO much, as it seems the knife-killer is shot down, eliminating a potential plot point? Again, could have used some dialog and more sound design. |
