Final Critique: Drop Box, Pg. 2

Use of Audio
This is the area where filmmakers need the most improvement. However, I was very impressed by the quality of audio in this movie. The dialogue was clear and distinct for each of the actors, and ambient noises (the door beeper, outside traffic, cell phones, etc.) weren’t distracting or overpowering. There wasn’t a whole lot of music in the movie, and what they did have was appropriate to the overall feel and theme.

Use of Budget
When I first looked at the info sheet that came with the movie, beside “Budget” was written “$10.00”. After emailing the director, I found out that it was, in fact, $10,000. (Darn those pesky zeros and commas!) While a budget of $10 would’ve been unbelievably low (to the point of being detrimental), $10,000 seems to be just perfect for the quality of this film. Most of their budget went for Cast and Crew, which means they got good actors and crewmembers who knew what they’re doing; such investments (if you’re able to make them) definitely pay off, as seen here.

The movie has great shots, such as
this shot from a bag of chips...
...or this shot from the perspective
of Mindy's breasts.

Lasting Appeal
I would definitely watch this movie again, and would recommend it to my friends. The quick, witty dialogue and the balanced lighting and clear quality of this movie make it very enjoyable to watch, even for multiple viewings! (In fact, I liked it so much, I’m going to pass this on to our editor to check out!)

Overall Comment
This movie is enjoyable because of a well-written script with a good story, great acting, creative camerawork, and clear and understandable dialogue. When you invest money (to get the right people for the job) and time (to make sure the audio and video are the best possible quality) and put that with creativity, you get a great movie like this!
