Mr. Giglio attempts to make writing the comedy blockbuster easy and I have to say he succeeds. Whether you've written a comedy script or even thinking of writing a comedy script - you need to read this excellent book.
Lightwave 10.1 (Review)
Lightwave is now very worth the money. Why do I say that? Because I’ve also seen what is on queue for LW 11. The 10.1 release of this software is a foundational release, setting up the to-come abilities by establishing a solid base and accelerated functions. Coming down the road are organic flocking and instancing abilities that will enable creating crowds of people or animals that exist without intersecting. And there is a whole lot more enroute.
Gen Con 2012 Film Contest Submission Open (News)
This is a call for entries for the Gen Con Indy 2012 Film Contest! The film festival focuses films that are sci-fi, fantasy, or gamer related. Last year was our biggest contest ever, and we're looking forward to seeing the films we'll get this year.
Ozone 5 (Review)
Ozone 5 gives filmmakers access to mastering tools once available only to mastering engineers. Arguably, iZotope Ozone has single-handedly opened musicians, sound engineers, and filmmakers to the world of mastering due to its affordable price tag. And the program continues to become more professional with every new release. Ozone 5 sports seven mastering effects filmmakers can apply to their film audio: Equalizer, Reverb, Harmonic Exciter, Dynamics, Stereo Imaging, Post Equalizer, and Maximizer. Each mastering effect has been revamped, reworked, and redesigned to make it even easier for you to make your films sound better.
Interview with MFM’s Editor, Jeremy Hanke, about Creative Community “World of Depleted”
Today, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Professor Chris Hansen, the director of Baylor University's Film & Digital Media division (and director of Best of Show Winner, Care & Feeding of an American Messiah), and his graduate media class about World of Depleted, the creative community that MicroFilmmaker Magazine has helped launch. It was great to share what changes in technology and society it's inspired by and what it is part of the groundwork for in the future.
Digital Publishing Suite (Review)
As if dominating the market with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver (just to name a few) weren’t enough, Adobe has stepped into the realm of digital publishing with some amazing tools for both designers and filmmakers. Adobe Digital Publishing Suite gives creative folks with little to no experience programming software the ability to publish interactive apps for tablet devices such as the iPad, Android, and BlackBerry Playbook.
