MMBF Trust boosts future generations with grants

UK based MMBF Trust will be looking to boost future generations with their sponsorships and grants. The charitable trust will offer support to applicants from around the world and will be offering sponsorships towards programs relating to the film industry and aviation.

The Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund is a new organization that has been set up to support young people with an interest in following a career in the film industry or to become pilots. Applications will be accepted from around the world. In particular the Fund aims to support individuals whose careers are at a standstill and who need a helping hand. It will also provide sponsorship for film-related events such as film festivals and film award ceremonies.

The foundation was formed by Mathetes Chihwai better known by his stage name Matthew C. Martino.

MMBF’s aviation grants will include a grant towards the PPL (Private Pilot License), grants towards pilot medical fees, equipment and as well as this any other aviation related course. Their filmmaking grants will include sponsorship for acting classes, First Time Directors grant for directors under 21, film festival submission grant and sponsorship for any film related courses or study.

Given the very niche market that the MMBF Trust is covering them to gain more impact by focusing on these two industries and focusing more on the young people they aim to be able to pick up the stars and champions of tomorrow.

The MMBF has already enjoyed a good launch partnering up with Colchester Film Festival to bring the Matthew Martino Rising Star Award at this year’s festival which was won by Daisy Jacobs. The MMBF is also one of the sponsors of Bath Film Festival and is the official sponsor of Witin Radio’s Fall Music Festival.

MMBF’s Michael Tucker confirmed:

‘We are working on building up partnerships with institutions and organizations in both the film and flying industry to be able to offer more bespoke support to the young people who will benefit from our sponsorship, the MMBF isn’t just about giving money but we also want to provide as much support for an aspiring filmmaker or pilot to make sure that their career gets a head start’
