October 18th, 2013 – Lexington, KY – This Halloween marks the debut of the DarkestGoth Original Series, The Silas & Ami Show. The Silas & Ami Show is microbudget series that features a unique approach in which an entire animated show is recorded via a “live studio” format, permitting a much more reactive and avant garde style than is normally achieved in animation.
With a flair that has reminded some of The Howard Stern Show or Adam Corrolla’s Loveline with Dr. Drew, The Silas & Ami Show is hosted by American Goth rocker, Silas McBane, and is cohosted by Indian-by-way-of-Canada medical doctor, Ami Kabar. Much like Alice Cooper before him, McBane pushes boundaries in ways that many may find uncomfortable, while Kabar pushes right back with her swift tongue and acerbic wit. The combination is being called “charming and addictive” and “strangely compelling” by those who’ve had a chance to preview the show.
Technology Accelerating Creativity
The swift turnaround of the show (which went from pitch to release in just over six months and will have at least one to three new episodes each month) is able to be accomplished with a single animator through the embracing of Reallusion’s CrazyTalk7 Pro, a software that enables puppeteering of artwork and photographs based on audio tracks. These video tracks are then edited together in Adobe Premiere Pro and exported for the DarkestGoth YouTube channel, which is the brain child of Gothic style, art, and entertainment magazine, DarkestGoth Magazine.
The initial premiere episode will be just over thirty minutes in length, but, according to sources in the show, future ones “will be shorter—likely between 5 and 15 minutes—so that they will be easier to watch on mobile devices.”
